3rd week of Teaching Practice
Monday to Wednesday: The Routine of a Teacher
The first half of the week was a great way to settle into the daily flow of school life.
Regular Working Days: I managed my assigned classes, focusing on lesson delivery and classroom management. The students are starting to get used to my teaching style, and I'm learning how to better engage them.
Substitutions: I covered several substitution periods, which is always a good test of quick thinking and adaptability! It gives me a chance to interact with different age groups and subject matter.
Discipline Duty: As part of the teacher on duty, I helped oversee the hallways and general student behavior during breaks. It's an important aspect of school environment maintenance and provides valuable insight into the non-academic interactions of the students.
๐ Thursday: The Thrill of the Spelling Bee
Thursday brought a fantastic change of pace with an organized Spelling Bee competition for the students.
This was such an energetic event! It was wonderful to see the students' dedication to language and their competitive spirit.
I was involved in helping organize the logistics and judging the rounds. The tension and excitement in the room were palpable, and the level of spelling skill was seriously impressive! Events like this really highlight the importance of vocabulary and effective communication.
๐ง๐ซ Friday: The Observation Day
The week culminated on Friday with a significant event: my formal observation by Alan Sir during the 3rd period with Class 8C.
Class 8C, 3rd Period: I delivered the planned lesson, aiming to incorporate all the feedback I've received so far.
It's always nerve-wracking to have an observer, but it also pushes you to perform at your best. I focused on student-centered activities and ensuring clear learning objectives were met.
I'm looking forward to receiving Alan Sir's feedback. These observations are the most valuable part of the practice, as they highlight areas for immediate improvement and growth as an educator.
Overall, Week 3 was highly productive. The mix of routine responsibilities and special events like the Spelling Bee kept things engaging, and the observation provides a clear benchmark for my development.
