Eighth week of Teaching Practice

Eighth week of teaching practice reflection 🏫

This week of teaching practice was a valuable learning experience that helped me grow as a teacher in terms of planning, classroom management, and student engagement.

8 September 2025
Today marked the reopening of school after the Onam vacation. I reached school at 9 am and signed the attendance register. The atmosphere was bright and cheerful as both teachers and students returned after the festive break. Even though the teachers day was on September 5, as it was a holiday, the students of class 5A warmly greeted the teachers and offered flowers as a gesture of respect and love.
In the morning, I had discipline duty, ensuring that the students entered the school in a disciplined manner. There were no regular classes today, as the teachers distributed the corrected answer papers of the Onam examinations. Students eagerly went through their results, and many of them discussed their performance with teachers, which helped them to recognize their strengths and areas for improvement.

Arts Fest events began today with the writing competitions, which included essay writing, story writing, and poem writing. I was assigned the duty of supervising these competitions, ensuring that the students participated in a fair and disciplined manner.

The continuation of the writing competitions of the arts fest was held today. The competitions included English essay writing, short story writing, and poem writing.
The students participated enthusiastically, putting forth their ideas and creativity with great effort. It was refreshing to see their thoughts flow naturally into words.

I reached school at 9 am and, as usual, signed the attendance register. After that, I carried out my morning discipline duty, ensuring that students maintained proper order and behavior when they entered the school . Later, I was assigned a substitution class.  During this period, I guided the students and kept them actively engaged, making sure they made good use of the free period.
The continuation of the arts fest writing competitions took place today, focusing on Hindi literary events such as essay writing, poem writing, and short story writing.

12 September 2025
I reached the school at 9:00 am and signed the attendance register. Soon after, I took charge of the morning discipline duty and helped in organizing the morning assembly. Students were arranged according to their respective classes to ensure smooth conduct.
During the assembly, the school headmaster distributed certificates to the NCC cadets who had attended the recent camp conducted in Vikram Sarabhai institute. A proud moment followed when Sharon was appreciated for receiving the Best Shooter Award among the 600 cadets who attended the camp. Another highlight of the day was the announcement of Manorama News Fest Puzzle winner, Aron S. Isac of Class 9, who was gifted a Royal Enfield bike by the Manorama team. This was indeed a prestigious and memorable occasion for both Aron’s parents and the entire school community.
