CHIRAD D-2

Community Living Camp Day 2
The day began early, with everyone waking up at 5 a.m. The yoga session started at 6 a.m., energizing the participants for the day ahead. The morning session featured a captivating performance of Tholpavakoothu by Harisree Kalakendram, Thrissur, which provided a wonderful glimpse into Kerala’s traditional art form.
Tholpavakoothu is a traditional shadow puppet play of Kerala, mainly performed in the temples of Palakkad and Thrissur districts. However, this traditional art form is not commonly seen nowadays, making such performances a rare and valuable cultural experience.
After the lunch break, a session named “Prathibhakale Valartham” was conducted by Sri Aji R., an IQ expert who has developed a hybrid education system that helps students overcome their fears of Mathematics and Science. During the session, he explained various memorizing techniques and discussed the essential skills that teachers should develop to effectively guide their students.
The session was truly insightful and inspiring. It helped me understand the importance of nurturing the intellectual potential of students through innovative and interactive methods. The memorizing techniques and practical strategies shared by Sri Aji R. were very useful and can be applied in classroom teaching to enhance learning effectiveness. The emphasis on developing essential teaching skills reminded me that a good teacher should not only impart knowledge but also motivate and guide students to discover their own abilities.
Today’s cleaning duty was assigned to our group, Group 3. The cultural programmes of the day were organized and presented by Group 1, while the food committee duties were managed efficiently by Group 2. The coordinated efforts of all groups ensured the smooth conduct of the day’s activities.
Various cultural programmes were conducted by Group 1, they also presented a creative newspaper highlighting all the important events of the day, conveyed in a funny and interesting manner. . The camp day concluded with a reflection and feedback session on the performances of each group.
